Two Weeks to Unbound: Audio Book Giveaway!
Unbound [Amazon | B&N | Indiebound] comes out in two weeks!
To mark the occasion, and to celebrate that the Audible audio book of Unbound is now available for pre-order, I decided to do a giveaway.
I’ll be giving away a download code for the audio book of Libriomancer, the first book in the series. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment saying what you think Smudge the fire-spider should get for Christmas this year.
(For those who are wondering why a fire-spider would celebrate Christmas, Smudge celebrates anything that involves getting presents. He’s also very much into chocolate Hanukkah gelt.)
But wait, there’s more! Want to double your chances of winning? If you’ve reviewed Libriomancer or Codex Born anywhere, just mention that in your comment, and you’ll be entered for a second drawing for a second Libriomancer audio book download!
Anyone can enter. I’ll probably draw winners some time this weekend.

I think Smudge should get a Roomba for Christmas. Just because I like the image of him riding it around.
I’ve reviewed both Libriomancer and Codex Born on Goodreads!

A fire proof safety blanket, of course 😉

It’s images like that one that make me wish I was skilled enough to draw my own characters!

I’m pretty sure that what Smudge would want this year is a matching set of fire-proof shoes and umbrella. He really wants to hang out at my house on Christmas (dinner’s good, my family is crazy, it’s always a party), but between the wood floors and the flammable tree, he needs protection. I thought about getting him a good bubble to ride around in, but realized that his fire would burn through the oxygen in the bubble and there’s no way for him to eat. This should allow him to enjoy the festivities without the collateral damage.

I think Smudge should get a pet rock. Versatile, indestructible weaponry you can cuddle. Everyone needs a pet rock.

Smudge + Hershey’s chocolate + marshmallows + graham crackers = killer s’mores + one hell of a mess for Isaac to clean up.

Smudge should get a device to interface with a continuous glucose monitor. The longer one ignores the dexcom, the more fire Smudge generates.

Even fire-spiders need to feel pretty, so how about one of these dresses?

A Jiffy-pop. So that he can serve as an early-warning system even when Isaac is asleep.

Smudge should get some of those chocolate-covered mealworms for Christmas. Also a lollipop with a cricket inside so he gets a treat once he’s melted off the sticky part.
I reviewed Codex Born on goodreads. But you probably shouldn’t read it, as I curse your name for gifting us with that cliffhanger at the end.

How about this – http://www.ethicalsuperstore.com/products/the-source/salt-water-powered-spider/?PCode=DSGPESS15&gclid=COLdgJKH38ICFY3JtAodtA4ATA – a salt water powered spider – or is that just too perverted?
I’ve reviewed both the previous libriomancer books on Goodreads – I loved them! I’ve also just finished the Stepsister Scheme (which I’m now insisting my daughters read).
Merry Christmas!

I think Smudge deserves a cake; chocolate sourdough with chocolate ganache as the frosting. Also, he needs some friends to blame when it’s all gone, http://www.amazon.com/TARANTULA-SPIDER-TOPPERS-BIRTHDAY-DECORATION/dp/B00B5TAI8E/ref=pd_sim_sbs_hg_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=0M4V39BHV9E4PJ95VCYB.
The best part is that the friends are edible, he is after all a spider and thus has standards to maintain.

The new Starkill album, Virus of the Mind; mainly because I’ve been listening to it nonstop, and the thought of a fire-spider rocking out sounds super metal.

Hope it’s not too late to enter!
I would give Smudge a bag of Swedish Fish, hidden inside a large castle-shaped incense burner, with room in the base for him, so that when he heats up while sitting in it, the chimneys smoke. (This would probably have to be custom made for his size. Luckily I’ve an uncle who does metal fabrication work and would think this project was a blast.)
