Cool Stuff Friday
Friday wants a team-up movie with Black Widow and T’Challa’s Security Chief.
I don’t know if it’s tacky to mention my own stuff here, but I’m going to anyway. Earlier this week, I posted some of my pics as desktop wallpapers. I’m pretty happy with how they turned out!
Now, on to the rest of the links.
- Five foot long LEGO Star Destroyer.
- Drone Pics of Tokyo’s cherry blossoms.
- Dogs and cats, living together. Mass hysteria!
- Amazing balloon animals.

What’s pretty cool is that T’Challa’s Security Chief is actually just one of the Dora Milaje. So there’s lots of them, and with one appearing in Civil War, then I’m sure they will figure prominently in Black Panther’s solo movie. I guess some of the history of them is iffy (deadliest female warriors and potential future wives of the king), but every comic I have read with them in recent years hasn’t included that aspect at all. Instead it focuses on them being the incredibly skilled and fiercely loyal bodyguards – although who or what they are loyal to can be an interesting story. In Hickman’s recent run on New Avengers they were loyal to Wakanda and not T’Challa and even turned away from him. Also, I have only read the first issue, but there is a new Black Panther series by Ta-Nehisi Coates (!!) that is looking to feature two Dora Milaje pretty prominently.
And I think my nerd flag is waving high enough, so I better get back to work. (Sorry, I only really got into Black Panther recently from Hickman’s Avengers run, and it’s exciting to see him, the Dora Milaje, Wakanda, etc. getting attention.) 🙂

Tacky? I vote ‘no’. One tweet (okay, and one retweet of someone showing their own use of one of the wallpapers) is hardly enough to make sure people know they’re there (are you going to link their page in the topbar menu?). I would have missed it completely if I hadn’t formed the habit of checking the Twitterscroll in the sidebar – and that would have been a darn shame, because I loved the Tahqamenon River pic when you first posted it, and was delighted you’d included it in the wallpapers.
