Codex Born Preview
Codex Born [Amazon | B&N | Mysterious Galaxy] comes out in three months. To mark the occasion, I’ve posted the first chapter in .pdf and .epub formats.
For those of you who’ve asked how e-books work in a world of libriomancy, this chapter talks about that question. Or if you just want to read about Smudge eating a poetic raisin…

So tantalizing! I can’t wait for it to come out!
One minor thing, maybe only in the e-version; it’s missing a “she” in this sentence: “I could see was fighting tears.”

I want to report a serious problem with that file: It’s too short by several orders of magnitude 😉

Jim, love the preview and thank you for addressing the ebook issue! It was the first thing I thought of when I read Libriomancer on my nook! 🙂
My question to you is this – do preorders help you? What I’m asking is, would you prefer I pre-order through B&N or wait until it’s launched and buy the book then? You’ve already earned my money, I just want to spend it in the way that benefits you the most. I didn’t know if preorders of ebooks could do anything to help drive brick & mortar orders or if it really didn’t matter.

Thanks, Adrian! So glad you liked it! Re: preorders, I’m good either way, so go with whatever’s most convenient for you.

pdf, Page 9, 4th paragraph:
“I could see was fighting tears” should be “I could see *she* was fighting tears”, I think.

The “fighting tears” error should now be fixed in both files. Thank you!

I can’t wait to read it woohoo. Glad to hear about the weres in this book I think they more fun than vamps. Oh if the new girl uses pomes for magic Isaac should have her read The Blue Adept form Piers Anthony’s out of phazes series. Since style used poems and music for his magic.
