LAST DAY OF THE ASF FUNDRAISER!
Today is the last day of the Aicardi Syndrome Fundraiser, raising money to fund research into a very nasty disease, and to support the families affected by that disease. (And also to make me try to duplicate some of the sillier and more sexist book cover poses.)
I am blown away by the support and generosity we’ve seen so far. I figured $10K was a dream goal, and as of this morning, we’ve raised more than $12,000.
This is my final call for donations. I said that if we raised $15K, I’d do a calendar. I’ve started playing with ideas, and put together a mock-up of what the calendar pages might look like. This one is a little too busy for my taste, but it’s close, and I think the whole thing could be a lot of fun.
So if you haven’t already donated, if you have a little extra money at the end of the year and are looking for a good, tax deductible cause, please click here for the details.
And thank you all.

“Whose idea was it to make women shave their legs?”
It was the razor companies. (Seriously).
I like shaving my legs, and I don’t envy you the process of growing the hair back in.

Aicardi Syndrome I read about this before a kind of disease or outbreak either which is not curable and hard to diagnose. A scary and overwhelming, and most people have never heard of it, including me just read it to my wife book, she’s a nurse.
For your reader information of what “Aicardi syndrome” is, Aicardi syndrome defined as a rare genetic malformation syndrome characterized by the partial or complete absence of a key structure in the brain called the corpus callosum, the presence of retinal abnormalities, and seizures in the form of infantile spasms. Aicardi syndrome is theorized to be caused by a defect on the X chromosome as it has thus far only been observed in girls or in boys with Klinefelter syndrome. Confirmation of this theory awaits the discovery of the gene which causes Aicardi syndrome. Symptoms typically appear before a baby reaches about 5 months of age.

Jim,
I love the idea of a calendar- and if we need to kick in funds for it, I for one, would be happy to do so.

I appreciate the offer, but at this point, the calendar is happening, and thanks to the ASF, I think we’re set with the up-front part. Now I just need to actually put the 12 images together.
